Flora Europaea original Linnean specimen Grin taxonomy perennial, H, 2n=32 saxicole mesoxeric, calciphyle Palearctic Stipio pulcherrimae - Festucetalia pallentis, much rarer in Festucetalia valesiacae mesoxeric and calciphyle rocky R34 habitats, rare R35. in Romania widespread in low altitude limestone mountains (nemoral belt area) and very rare in other kind of mesoxeric grasslands         This Palearctic species is a saxicole element usually living in Romania on limestones in low altitude mountains, rarely in other types of habitats.
